All HXP HEADSTAMP ONLY 30-06 Springfield tumble cleaned and ready to go. HXP 30-06 Springfield ammo is highly desirable as is its fired brass. This 30-06 was sold in large quantities to the CMP(Civilian Marksmanship Program) and has quite the following. HXP stamped 30-06 brass began its life loaded as 30-06 M2 150 grain ammo made to replicate standard USA M2 ball for use in the M1 Garand rifle. The ammunition was originally produced in Athens by the Pyrkal plant, was non corrosive, and boxer primed so it can be reloaded. As with all military brass, the primers are crimped, you must be able to swage the primer pocket prior to seating a new primer. The Pyrkal factory in Greece utilized a stake priming method as opposed to the ring method used in Lake City. This simply means the staking method wasn’t a full ring around the primer, just 3 small stakes to secure the primer in place. The swaging process is exactly the same for brass with a ring crimp or a stake crimp. There isn’t much of this brass out there and the small amount that is available sells quickly. It is no longer being manufactured so once the material is all shot and used up, it will be gone. People who know HXP 30-06 go absolutely crazy over it. It’s an excellent product for anyone looking to replicate M2 30-06 ammo for use in the Garand, 1903, or any other rifle chambered in 30-06 Springfield. This brass has been mechanically sorted 3 times and hand sorted 2 times before shipping.
