All indoor shot and stored, Lake City .223 remington brass. The head stamps will read “LC 223 Rem” and has a crimped primer pocket. You will need to remove the crimp in the primer pocket prior to loading. This material will function well for cutting down to 300 blackout. We have had several customers test both this .223 stamp material from Lake City and its 5.56 Nato stamped cousin and the results were identical in terms of function and appearance. As with all brass orders, we have tumble cleaned this material and include an additional 2% over the weight of the order to ensure you get your money’s worth. As with all military brass, even after we tumble clean it, it does not come out with a polished shine the way commercial brass does. This will not impede function in any way.

Martin,
Glad you like the brass! The military material for whatever reason doesn’t come out with a nice shine like commercial material. We see this across all calibers that are made for military use. We actually leave it in the tumblers for an extra hour. I’m going to update the listing to just show that it is cleaned and ready for your dies as you said. I’m also going to put a note that military brass doesn’t come with the same shine as the commercial material, thanks!
