To say we were excited to get this up on the site is an understatement! Through the years we have had some neat and rare finds. You never know what will come out of hiding on an estate sale and this is just one of them. This particular brass began life as Lake City M118 Match, not to be confused with M118 “LR”, it is not that. This is the original stuff that was made famous during the 70’s into the 80’s among long range shooters. This ammunition was orginally loaded with an 173 grain full metal jacket but was often pulled down and replaced with a 168 grain Sierra Match King hollow point boat tail, then called “Mexican Match.” No one really knows why it was called “Mexican Match” but the shooters of the time went crazy over the results in accuracy. The brass is not crimped and has a very good appearance. Anyone looking to replicate this timeless load would not need to look any further for the brass. This is the real deal and I doubt we will ever see this again. Since items like this are no longer in production, as the years go on and it is shot up, eventually its gone forever. If you’re on the fence about purchasing any, don’t wait too long. I know I will regret selling this piece of history and not keeping it for my personal stash!
