Russ –
Great stuffGreat nickle 6.5 cases, came clean and polished.
I pressed two sets. First set each case 3 times with Hornaday carbide match die in a Hornaday press. Second set of 100 3 times each in the very beefy Herters Model 3. Greased each case with automotive Redline CRV grease (for CV joints).
Both sets were series of powder from 30 to 38 grains. Hornaday Polytip bullets (yes-pricey but work in the AR10 feed ramps). No locktite on primers.
Results: All 200 fired (Love those Fed. Match primers). Every case ejected. Brushed the breech after each 25 rounds, however no fouling from the grease., wiping the brush on a paper towel-surprising.
Accuracy was quite something, very repeatable in each weighed charge group. In a vise, repeated several rounds with small windage variances. Wind reported by the wifi wind vane by target adjusted for wind- 0.83 MOA at 400 yards. Brass ones were at 0.92 MOA adjusted another day same setup.
Was hitting the elevated 6’x6′ at 860 yards (pala).
Great cases. I’m thinking they were once fired indoor? (Where is there a 400 yard range indoor?) Wish I has bought a lot more when they were available. I have reloaded them three times, and some are getting tired.
