45 caliber .452 diameter 300 grain Hornady XTP Jacketed Hollow Points.  The Hornady XTP is a premier defense and hunting bullet with a swaged lead core with a jacket divided into 6 symetrical sections.  The 6 sections are created by serrations in the jacket to aid controlled expansion at lower pistol velocities for deep controlled penetration.  Most defense bullets out there are designed to expand at one factory specified velocity, the XTP will expand over a range of pistol velocities.  The cannelure keeps the jacket married to its swaged lead core and makes a good anchor point to crimp the projectile.  Overall these are an excellent bullet for 45 Colt, 454 Casull, or any other cartridge calling for a .452 diameter projectile.  These projectiles will do well in either pistols or rifles.
